Jon Hall, Group Managing Director, Mortgages and Savings at OSB Group, is to cycle 183 miles to raise funds for Demelza Hospice Care for Children. Jon will start his cycle challenge at the Eiffel Tower in Paris this September, and finish three days later at the charity’s hospice in Sittingbourne, Kent. He will be joined on the journey by colleague Christina Fasoli, Canterbury Branch Manager for Kent Reliance.
Demelza provides specialist care and emotional support for babies, children and teenagers with terminal conditions and their loved ones, so they can enjoy their time together as a family for as long as they have.
Donations are vital to the care Demelza can provide.
- £5 pays for a welcome bag for every child who comes to Demelza
- £15 helps pay for personalising a bedroom for a child's end of life care
- £60 pays for an hour of art or music therapy for a child or sibling
- £142 pays for a day of specialist care from a Demelza registered nurse
- £200 covers the average cost of a family going through the referral process to access Demelza’s care and support
Jon and Christina, who have already started training for the challenge, hope to raise £10,000 for the charity.
Jon Hall, Group Managing Director, Mortgages and Savings, OSB Group said: “This will be a huge challenge for us both, but we’re driven by that the fact that we’ll be raising money for a wonderful cause that we’ve proudly supported through our Kent Reliance Demelza children’s savings accounts* for a number of years.”
Louise Earl, Corporate Partnerships Account Manager at Demelza, said: “We are delighted that Jon and Christina have taken on this amazing challenge, we appreciate the time and dedication this epic bike ride will take. Good luck and thank you for supporting Demelza - the money you raise will go directly to helping the children in our care and their families."
